Can we produce organs or tissues with three-dimensional (3D) printers? Can we digitally replicate an organ? What is bioprinting? Can we 3D print living cells? What are the challenges in producing a fully functional organ or tissue? This course will cover 3D bioprinting methods, the modeling of tissues and organs, the preparation of bio-inks, and methods for printing living cells taken from patients. It will also discuss exciting future applications and challenges of bioprinting, such as in drug testing and the creation of bionic organs.
NOTE: Students must have a laptop to attend the course.
